the show
June 27th
Somerville Theatre –55 Davis Square, Somerville, MA 02144
There will be both a matinee and an evening show. There will be a cash bar available during both shows and a reception at the venue to follow. We plan to host tech and dress rehearsal earlier that week.
rehearsals
February 24th to June 18th
Tues, Wed, Thurs
Masary Studios – 15 Channel Center St, Boston, MA 02210
Each piece in the show will rehearse bi-weekly for 1.5 hours. For a 12 piece showcase, the bi-weekly schedule will be as follows. We also offer all performance members the opportunity to be in a company-wide piece. Those rehearsals are posted on our calendar of events
This space is owned and run by Midway Artist Studios – an incredible team dedicated to keeping art studios affordable and available in our commercialized city.
FDC’s mission is to provide dance opportunities to as much of our community as possible, therefore, we will continue offering our weekly workshops during the performance season for those unable or uninterested in performing. This class will be open to the public for a drop-in rate, and open to our performance and class members for free.

choreographer auditions
Saturday January 3rd
Studio 414
551 Tremont St, Boston, MA 02116
Registration is CLOSED and schedule is posted.
Audition slots will be 15 minutes each and include a brief sit down to share your vision for the piece, followed by a short demonstration for the panel. We are hoping for at least 30 seconds showcased, but the more the merrier! Our team will be videoing each audition to include in our choreographer showcase upon selection – more deets below. We will also be accepting video auditions for anyone unable to join us in person on audition day.
dancer auditions
Saturday February 7th
915 Commonwealth Ave, Boston MA 02215
Registration is OPEN and results will be posted shortly after auditions.
**If you cannot make the audition date we are offering video submissions**
In order to view the choreographer’s showcase you must be registered – they will be sent out over email. Dancers will be asked to review videos from each of our choreographer’s auditions and complete their dancer selection form. On this form you will be asked to rank the pieces you would like to audition for and note any pieces you cannot be considered for. Dancers are eligible to be in a maximum of 6 pieces in the show, however, in order to be cast in more than 3 pieces, dancers will need to acknowledge that they are open to having quick changes in the showcase. They will also be asked to list their preferred maximum number of dances and number of days of the week they’d like to rehearse. Consider that only dancing one night will allow the dancer to be in four pieces given the rotating bi-weekly schedule.
Results will be calculated using FDC’s proprietary algorithm. We believe using technology to match dancers and choreographers is an important step to guarantee accuracy and eliminate board involvement. Choreographers will have the opportunity to review their cast lists before final audition results are publicized.
